Can I somehow change my username and use the same email. I picked this username like 5 years ago or something and I would really like it to be something different....I mean seriously look at it...it says TokeMe, my line of work would not appreciate such a name in my background. I mean its not THAT bad but it is pretty dumb

ok I just read through the frequent Q&A it definitely says no...but can I use my email again to make a new account with a different username? Or am I going to have to change email for that

5 years ago? It says you created it April last year. You have basically no posts, why not simply delete the account and create a new one.

a year ago was when I had actually confirmed the account but I've used that name a long time ago. Anyways how can I delete the account I went to Edit Profile and I don't see the big delete button

It also says the last time I visited was a year ago but I have been on here many a times. I've used UG since I first picked up the Ol Axe

If you read the Q&As to find out you can't change your username, you'd know you aren't allowed to create multiple accounts either.

The only way you can do it is to plead your case with a supermod & provide a justifiable explanation why they should change your name for you. If the name you chose last year may create potential issues with an employer and you can make a reasonable case for why that would be the case, if I was a supermod I'd do it.

It would have to be a good story though, if you couldn't make me believe it I'd just tell you to suck it up and live with the name you chose.

But that's just me, I'm not the guy you'll need to convince.

That's a pretty bad flaw in the site design if you can't delete your account.

So I cant delete the account at all? I don't care about it that much I guess, but I should be able to cancel my account. It would be dumb for me to have to break all the rules so that they will delete my account
#11
If you break the rules they wont delete your account, you'll just get banned, meaning your account will still exist, you just wont be able to use it.

Maybe message a mod and see if they can delete it for you? I think it's much more likely they'll be able to remove your account than change the account name.

Ok so all arrows point towards, bending down on hand and knee and begging one of these Mod fellows to get rid of this bad decision

I think my username is actually against the rules anyways I mean it is obviously drug/sexual related innuendo.

it's not THAT obvious. the deliberate absence of a character or space between the two words makes it a little more obscure.

Yeah, I read it as if it was pronounced "tock-eem".

Only noticed the potential reference when I read why he wanted to change it.

It's really not that big of a deal. It seems like the majority of the users on this sight don't really care for their username. Honestly most people here won't judge you based on a bad username, especially if they have one themselves.

There are a few reasons why this is actually a good thing.

1. Let's say you're a big time trouble maker. You get a couple of bans. Then you decide that you simply want to delete your account and make a new one for a "fresh start" (to anonymously cause more trouble).

2. I remember seeing something awhile back about how if you delete your account, the system has to go and change all of your posts to "Guest" or something like that. If somebody had a lot of posts, this could really junk up the server for a bit. I honestly don't know how big of a deal that is though. This also relates back to the first one, since you would have no proof of so-and-so making troublesome posts.

3. If somebody were to hack your account, what's stopping them from deleting it? I'd say outright deleting it is possibly worse than posting porn or whatever else they could do to get you in trouble.

4. There really isn't a major reason for deleting an account being necessary, as long as you don't have a ton of personal information plastered all over the site. Even in that case, somebody may very well have quoted it and so deleting your account wouldn't necessarily solve that problem 100%.
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

if that were the case I would of been banned long ago based on what my username suggests, but contrary to what my username suggests, I don't smoke weed anymore

Serious question: How would anyone find out? You have nothing on your profile to identify you. You have very few posts. I really don't see any way that a potential employer or current employer could find out about this profile.

PM somebody with a red name. They're the only ones who can change usernames. It might be a no though.
