Hello, everyone.
I just finished watching Hal Galper's piano lesson on minimizing emotion and useless physical movements (it's in youtube, for some reason I can't post the link :l). Near the end the guy says something very interesting about using the very sound of the notes as a way to keep time. What do you guys think about this or about the lesson in general? Do you think this can be applied to the electric guitar (with all the possible articulations, tone possibilities and so on)?

The way you move your hands and attack the keys can actually effect the sound of what you are playing. It is a surprisingly sensitive instrument so no I don't really think minimizing 'useless' motions is a particularly good idea. And when applied to guitar... well don't you think the pick attack and how you fret the note actually have an effect on the sound?
