Deciding between 3 models to setup specifically for open tunings/slide.

A cheap SG, Les Paul Standard Pro or a Les Paul Tribute plus. Opinions?

The store i am buying from is selling the Pro for 475 and the tribute for 499 without case.

The LP Standard Pro is a good guitar. The Tribute is even better.

Can you explain why you feel the tribute is better? Thanks for your input

You can just google the specs.

Its better because it has locking tuners and Gibson 57 classic pickups.

Check out my NGD post further down the page. It has the specs listed.
Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion

Think Im going with the Tribute Plus, although I wanted the sunburst they currently only have the midnight sapphire and black cherry in stock. I can deal with that though Keeping in mind Im only using this for open tunings/slide since I I was going to just get the traditional pro, but it seems like the tribute is worth the extra 100

I've played some great epis and some awful ones, they're QC seems slightly iffy, just make sure you try before you buy.
