Any major difference between the two? I found a great deal on a TS808, but I already have a TS9 so I'm just wondering if I should go for it or not.

That's the advantage of being such a distance from Yianni. I can continue to live my life without fear of stumbling upon his dark terror.

OK, now for the specifics.
Electronically it's just two resistors on the output that have zero affect in the audible spectrum.
Physically, the switch feels different to operate. The TS9 switch requires more pressure. Some prefer one, some prefer the other. Personally I have no preference.
Lastly, they look different.

That's it.

Get a Bad Monkey. Both the TS9 and the TS808 cut out a buttload of bass. The Bad Monkey has a bass knob so you can get some of that back if you want it. Basically, the Bad Monkey is both cheaper and better.

If you already have one, don't buy the other. They're so close it's not worth it.

Unless of course you actually want two tubescreamers.....which can be cool. But if you're looking for a different sound, no.

Ah ok. I guess I'll just leave it alone. I'm actually finding myself not liking the TS sound too much either way, so maybe I'll just look at some other ODs. Thanks for the help guys

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
