So my girl and I decided to get serious about starting a band. She sings, I play guitar and she's asked me to teach her bass. We have a band name and atm we are just enjoying all the possibilities ahead. However, seeing as I'm basically relearning the guitar and she is just callousing her fingers on the bass, we wanna wait til we're good at what we do before trying to look for other musicians.

While looking up helpful stuff I found this article:
http://guitarinternational.com/2012/12/26/why-musicians/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+GuitarInternationalMagazine+%28Guitar+International+Magazine%29

In a nutshell: It's great advertisement. If you're not a pro, you can still find and attract networks of musicians.

Now I was just wondering if this truly applies. Should I start a blog?
Theory is just...wow. I'm getting a bit over my head by trying to learn so much w/o formal educators
