Hello,

I'm customising a friends SG, just as a heads up, will a regular style straight 3 way switch fit the average SG cavity? Most I have seen featured an angled switch, but I already have the straight variety as spares, so If I could I'd rather use those to save ordering another.

Thanks!

EDIT:

Angled:

Regular:

I don't have the guitar with me right now, I am however ordering the parts ready for when I have it.

I assumed there would be a reason for SG's having this sort of switch, the first thing which immediately jumps to mind is that the regular 3 way would be too long.

Oh, that way. I think the offset/angled ones are just for ES type guitars. I've never seen a solidbody with that. SGs use the straight kind.

Weird, I don't think I've ever seen a solidbody Gibson with that switch. Good to know.

Thanks for the responses chaps, can you see why I was confused now? Haha! After a bit of digging it seems that many of the older models had the angled switches, some of which had particularly small cavities and it was that which threw me off. Very weird indeed!
