Hi. I'm seeking a good octave-up/octave-down pedal that'll output
both octaves individually and/or allow for simultaneous mixing of both
(if there is a "two octave-down" feature, that's OK, but not critical).

Currently, I use separate octave-up and octave down pedals, seeking a better
pedal to do both with less real-estate. Will play aggressive classic rock,
blues rock and some hard rock. No particular sound as I'm experimenting
with a variety of sounds. I'm willing to spend $150 to $225.

Searching the Internet, following six stomp-boxes
seem to have good reviews and reputations.

* Pearl Octaver CLONE
* Foxrox Octron 1
* Fulltone Ultimate Octave
* MI Audio Pollyanna Analog Poly Octave
* Electro-Harmonix Micro POG Polyphonic Octave Generator
* T-Rex Octavius Tri-Tone Octave Generator

If you have played any or all of the above six pedals, PLMK
which ones you like or disliked and why. Thank you.

So let's talk about three of six you mentioned:

1. The Fulltone Ultimate Octave is not what you're looking for. It's a fuzz with an octave-up character, but doesn't allow for clean octave-up or any adjustment of the octave up level beyond "on or off".

2. The EHX Micro-POG and T-Rex Octavius are not analog pedals. But in the world of octavers analog only translates to "monophonic and doesn't really track that well".

3. The Micro-POG is not true bypass.

That said I like the EHX Micro-POG the best of the options presented (never played a Pearl clone though). If you want that glitchy/vintage sounding octave effect and don't need the more precise tracking of a digital octaver, the Foxrox Octron might be what you're looking for.

ohai Toppscore!

Toppscore, two octaves are great, but three's a crowd.

I bet you've already ordered an octaver.

You think about everything, ha ha ha.

Thanks. I have read that analog octave pedals can never be "clean".
But, some can dial-in less "fuzz" than others. Thanks for the heads-up
regarding the Fulltone Ultra. Thanks.

I've read digital octave pedals do get cleaner output tones,
but many do not have "natural" tones or sounds.

I've heard nothing but positive regarding the Micro POG, T-Rex Octavier,
Foxrox Octron. Will probably be focusing on these three. Thanks.

*** Does seem like three octaves are a crowd Thanks

No commitment to analog, just thought if one matched up, it'd be a good one.

ohai toppscore! you're my favourite poster!
i searched my knowledge base. i got the results back, and anything polyphonic is definitely digital.

Yes ~ backing off on analog only.
I'm not that great of a guitarist at this point . . . . .

Three does seem to be crowded. Just that some pedals offer the feature.

Regarding Octaver pedals . . . . .
actually, my Rocktron Octaver pedal will be replaced.

Thanks. Cheers

ohai Topsore!

I think you
should get three octaver pedals and
run them in parallel each
with a different setting.

It will sound very
amazing, you have no idea!

So just choose whatever 3 of those 6!!!

Don't mock this idea until
you try it for yourself, or else
you're being close-minded. Being open-minded is
where it's at! Peace!!

A DS-1 isn't even an octaver.

Octaver is basically a pedal that reads the pitch and characteristics of the guitar signal, then spits out a synthetic tone 1 octave below that.

Fun fact for those who confuse it as a pitch shifter.
