I'm from Pakistan and I was searching the internet and found this guy from my country who is selling this USA made Fender. I just want to make sure if its a real fender or a fake copy. Also if the guitar is real what would be the perfect price for this guitar? as the guy is demanding 1000$ with the hard-case.
Thanks

Serial checks out, nothing fishy about the whole thing, certain parts have got those definite Fender USA nuances. If it's a fake, it's the best fake ever! Probably genuine though.

As for the price, I'm not sure what your market rates are gonna be in Pakistan. It'd probably run cheaper in the US but I think it'd probably run about the same over here in Japan though.

Looks freaking sweet by the way, I love maple fretboards.

Please quote the US price as it will be like 30-40$ more expensive here

That looks pretty real to me.

We're not your babysitter, you can quite easily go on eBay and have a quick look.

But for the purposes of good karma they go from around $750-$900.

It was made in 1996 according to the serial number.

How you know you have too many guitars...

Apparently once also known as PonyFan #834553.

Is it new that they put "US" in front of the serial code?

My 2011 US Standard has it's serial starting with "US".

I hear they use false bypass switches.

My 2010 and my 2011 Am. Standard Teles also has it. I believe that they begun with that in 2010, as my 2008 Am. Standard Strat has a serial number beginning with Z8 as in "Zero Eight".

while it looks legit the neck pocket and inside the cavity would help confirm the body and pups.

looks good to me otherwise.
