Hi UG,

My uncle threw this old (and quite beautiful) '79 Ibanez Musician(pic) my way to clean it and set it up, but I'm not familiar with the setup... Take a look:

Bridge pic

Neck pic

I immediately noticed the bridge is raised extremely high, along with the bridge pickup, but on the other hand, the action/neck seems just fine.

I also noticed my uncle never really played it much, there is no wear WHATSOEVER (Quite remarkable for a '79 guitar, donchathink?)

Should I leave it be? Is this a normal setup for a guitar like this? It's a neck through kind of guitar...

Any help is appreciated.

Is the neck angled like a Les Paul (forgot the technical term)? That would explain the high bridge but good action.

Yeah, it kind of is... I compared it to my LP and it makes sense now. The bridge is way higher though, but I have an explanation. Many thanks.
