Hey guys,

It's been a while since i've posted here as i've not been playing my guitar much lately.

However I have recently picked up a new guitar

The guitar is a Fender special run MIM strat. With a little bit of a difference. The finish on this guitar is a swirl finish. Something i've not seen on a production strat before.

Review:

I've only had this guitar for 2 days so I can't really comment on reliability. The guitar is made in mexico. It has a H/S/S configuration which is something i've been after for a while as i play heavier stuff usually.

After speaking to the guy in the shop it seems that there have only been around 40 of these guitars brought into the UK so i'm not expecting to see another one.

The build and playability of this guitar feel's every bit as good as my MIA. It has a C profile neck and plays nicely. A nice low action means that legato runs are a breeze.

The price I hear you ask. £475

If thats a factory finish then it is pretty disappointing, I have seen better swirls made by average Joes.

This unfortunately, a swirl like that would probably be discarded as a reject by some of the better known swirlers.

Still, if you like it, then who are we to judge, looks like a great guitar

That's one of the coolest swirl finishes i've ever seen imo. It's not too OTT and the colour scheme is excellent. I like how it isn't too swirly.

Sometimes mistakes can be better than anything you could ever intentionally make, much like with fake aged guitars, they can sometimes look good, but can rarely beat a well worn axe.

Still though, HNGD! Looks brilliant, only part I would dislike is the trem :p
