Feeling a little lost on string material for my CBB. Seen a lot of folks using trimmer line or weed wacker line for strings. How does that sound? Seen youtube, but I know mine will be completely different. My build is neck through body, so I will be mounting the strings to the neck.
Are plain old phosphor/bronze acoustic strings a better choice tonewise?
I am not installing a pickup right away.
I would love to try the trimmer line, but I don't want to buy a 100 foot roll in 2 different thicknesses (I have a trimmer at home, so I already have 1 thickness.)
I couldn't find any threads on this, and a point in the right direction is appreciated.

Assuming you are building it to a normal bass scale length, why not just use some flats?
