Hi. I'm very new to the ESP / LTD range. I'm wondering if someone can help me navigate the differences between the older LTD range and the current one. I've owned/played Chinese/Korean/Indonesian guitars and they were all great (Eastman, Epiphone, Jackson).

So my question is: Is a current MH-330 significantly better/worse/the same as an earlier MH-201 made in Korea. I want a purple one and those are my options. My plan would be to swap the FR and pickups on either, so it really comes down to the body quality.

Any insight is appreciated! Thanks.

I would definitely rather have the older Korean one.

Thanks so much for the reply. Is there anything specific about the 201 you like better than the 320? Neck shape, body type, overall quality etc... The 201's are dirt-cheap so i'm looking forward to trying one.

I don't like either. Block heel bolt on necks are one of my biggest hates in a guitar. But the 201 comes from basically LTDs "golden era", all of their Korean stuff during the mid 2000s was exceptional, in my experience. My H-301 crushes my EC-1000 in terms of feel and resonance. The neck profiles are supposed to be the same, but my EC's neck is chunkier and less round, and more uncomfortable to play.
