First, so you don't hover and ruin the surprise, I got a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue. I decided I need a tweed. Mark Knopfler's Les Paul sound has always been one of my favourites and he uses tweed amps. Plus, I'm a Stones fan boy. Great sounding amp. 40 watts, 2 channels. 1x12 speaker. Typical fender cleans and a nice light amount of gain. But, still enough to do AC/DC. Still yet to get used to it properly but I'm impressed with it.

Now, the Gretsch White... Pigeon. As it's not quite a Falcon but closer than a Penguin. It's actually a Gretsch G5422TDC Electromatic. Very impressed by this guitar. Sounds like a Gretsch. The pickups will be staying. They are blacktop filtertrons. I love this thing and pretty sure it's gunna be a keeper this time.
I love how it's wired. It has a volume for each pickup, a master tone and a master Volume. In the middle position, turning one of the pickups' volume does nothing to the volume. It just blends the pickup in or out. Which I love the idea of. It means, you can roll both volumes right down but still be at full volume with your master volume. I like this so much, I may even look into doing it with my Les Paul. Plus, this bigsby is a B70. A cheaper version of the B7. However, I had the B7 on my Lp and recently removed it. Surprisingly, this B70 is much nicer. Much easier to restring.

Anyway, I can't be arsed to write anymore, I wrote this all out once and it got deleted...

Without further ado...

Cool, huh?

Nice.

I'm definitely going to get myself one of those one day. My ultimate dream guitar is the White Falcon Billy Duffy Sig, but I doubt I'll ever afford one so one of these it shall be. Next year perhaps.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

HNGD!

Had bad GAS for one of those myself a while ago!

... and then I realized how little need for a hollow-body I have.

I love the name "white pigeon". I wish that was the official name of this model
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

Very awesome! Congratulations. I was thinking it was going to be something like this.

I see what you did there...

HNGD! Looks like a great guitar & amp combination. I like the Gretsch Electromatics, and keep kicking myself for not buying a pristine one I saw used for $500 a few years ago.

I'm honestly surprised at the quality of the guitar. I can't even begin to imagine how incredible a Falcon is.

Thanks guys!

Congrats, looks cool

is it a pinned or floating bridge ?

can the strings be better lined up with the polepieces ?

It's gunna be quite a few years until I can afford one and until I can justify having one. I don't think I play well enough to have one yet. But I will get one.

It's a floating bridge, yes. And yes, I need to move it over to the left a bit.

Beautiful, man, HNGD! Always good to see another Gretsch owner, I was looking for a double cutaway when I found my 5120. Decided I didn't really care about the double cutaway after that, Gretch's have a way of doing that...

those can be a bear when you set the intonation. when changing strings i would probably change one string at a time as opposed to taking them all off at once etc. and check the intonation after completing.

looks awesome.

also fwiw, i think the white body / white binding looks great on that guitar. it's all preference but to me that looks better than a falcon.
