Hey everyone! I'm rather new to electric guitars, especially Floyd Roses. And I wanted to replace the cheap Licensed Tremolo on my Kramer Nite V FR but I don't know what to get. My dilemma is that I see Floyd Rose, then I see L2, L3, R2, and R3 nuts. I'm wondering, "what does that mean?" Does the "L" and "R" mean Left and Right handed and what does the 2 and the 3 mean? Thanks in advance! (:

first things first you need to check any "good" floyd you get will be a direct swap. floyd rose, gotoh (ge1996T is the name of their double-locking tremolo) and schaller (schaller double locking tremolo and lockmeister are theirs, from what i hear the lockmeister is just a rebranded OFR, and it's a fair bit cheaper than an OFR, at least in europe) have routing templates on their websites. Just check that all the measurements match up, kind of thing (and don't ignore the size of the sustain block).

Yeah the nut is the thing. Again, there should be info on the respective websites.

I guess R and L mean left and right, I've never noticed any Ls before The number refers to the nut width and string spacing. Measure your guitar's current locking nut and its string spacing.

they offer a few different nuts too on their tremolo page- http://www.g-gotoh.com/international/?btp_product_category=tremolo-lock-nuts click on the different nuts for dimensions.

hope that helped a little.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

^^ No worries

^ the studs on my older musicyo kramer are smaller than an OFR. But i think the actual trem is the same size, yeah.
