Basically, something which sounds exactly like this...

Some names of progs that can do it would be appreciated. I don't need anything fancy for recording purposes, just something to cook up and jam along to through PC speakers - but it needs to sound like the above, and possibly with reverb/delay options too.

You won't get exactly what Trent has because he's an incredible producer. He's probably is running an original Roland Module through multiple outboard effects, that's how he gets his sound.

Also, no matter if it's payware, since I'll just dee-ell it for free anyway.

We don't advocate piracy on this board, it's against the site rules and you'll be lucky to not get a mod warning from this post. All the regs buy their gear.

But there are free 808 vsts out there. You'll still need a sequencer though.

So just like with guitar recordings, it's a case of production techniques giving a cool sound rather than raw equipment? Dammit. I thought I was onto something easy here. It sounds so basic - the synth drums on that song, I mean.

Granted, but nobody's advocating anything. A statement of intent is not necessarily advocation. If someone suggests payware, in real life I could just as well pay for it or not pay for it - just as I could say "I'll download this album", but actually end up buying it anyway. I have neither shared nor asked for illegal links.

As long as it's kept in mind we'll all be peachy. You did request software with intent to pirate it, but we'll leave it there.

And Nah Trent is mental when it comes to production, and anyway, on further listening I'm pretty sure that isn't either a 808 nor a 909.

Duly noted. In which case, post edited. Might want to do the same with your first one to keep a wrotha (white brotha) safe.

Reason I asked for those 2 was because someone stated (quite resolutely) that it was a 909. It's that thumping bassiness which I just gotta have.

Here, have 1000 free drum samples. And I'm 99% sure the sounds you want are in there somewhere (they're sorted by type btw). They were last I checked, at least.

LEGENDARY POST.

(They need a rep/karma system here.)
