I have a problem with my amp (or it could be the guitar, I don't know).

When I plug the guitar into the amp there is a loud noise even if I'm not playing and the sound is very low. You can hear it here: https://soundcloud.com/sundin36/guitar

The amp is a Roland Micro-cube.

Anyone knows what's the problem?

So touching the strings has absolutely no effect?

Do you have access to another amp to try out?

I would open the guitar and look for loose or shorted connections.

If I touch a string there is a lot of noise even a slight touch.

Have you tried a new cable?

See, it's important that people clarify when they say "metal", because I pretty much always assume they are a Cannibal Corpse fanboi.

Try a different guitar. Try a different amp. Could be quite a few things listening to that clip.

That's what I'm going to do, but I wanted to know if this was a common problem first.

Sounds like something in the guitar is loose. But yeah before opening anything try a different guitar through it. Also try plugging into a different wall outlet if you haven't.
This is the life we must choose.

I'm surprised that a big arm hasn't appeared out of the amp and slapped you across the face.

You're right. The problem is the guitar.

I'll try to open it and see if there's something loose and hopefully is an easy to problem to fix.

Thanks for the answers .

There should be a wire drilled through the top of the guitar that connects from the bridge to the back of a pot. That might have come loose.

It's fixed. The problem was the wire of the jack, that was loose.
