Does anyone know of any? I really dont like the strat shaped guitars. I currently play a 6 string Schecter Avenger and I love the shape. It stands out a lot but it isnt as ridiculous lookling as a typical flying v or a razorback.

Any 7 string with thick enough strings should reach drop g. I wouldn't suggest going for anything shorter than a 25.5" scale length. Ideally you might want a 26.5 or 27" to get the right tension.

With the right strings, and the right setup any guitar could do Drop G.

Perhaps a Dean ML is ridiculous enough for you. Or a Razorback.

Based sole on shape and no other information I'd look at these:

Maybe a used Ibanez Xiphos would fit the bill as well.

My question is how is a typical flying v more ridiculous than an Avenger?

I'm not going to lie, but I HATE both B.C.Rich and ESP. I think most of the UG community will agree with the B.C.Rich hate, not sure about the ESP hate. Anyway, Agile guitars get a lot of love around here, here are a couple 28' and 30' (!) inch 7-strings to check out :

You should probably also specify a budget and country. These all run around the 700$ mark, plus shipping which is something like 20$ in the US and 120$ outside of it (plus a mandatory case if you're outside the US). Also, if you're outside the US, there's the import tax to consider, which is 21% in Europe, so you're total cost will end up at about 900$/678€/590£

Happy hunting!

Those are all good suggestions, but I think he wants something more extreme shape wise, he said he didn't like strat styled guitars. Which is a damn shame because those will do Drop G nicely.

2 Vs and a PRS SE style then :P You'll definitely want to stick with 27" for drop G, as well as the thickest 7-string set you can find :P

Schecter Revenger, it's a bolt-on neck but pretty thin. Need one? L- or R-handed?

Most 7 strings tend to be similar to a Strat shape, and since you think flying V's are ridiculous looking there may not be too many options.
