Hi Guys,

I just recently got an Orange Rockerverb 100 and due to the price, I am not keen on getting any damage to it so I'm investing in a flight-case before my band goes on tour. Really stuck on if I should get a lift-off or live-in?

Both appeal to me but heard about problems with heat in the live-in but then the lift off and always worrying about latch failure?

What's everyone's thoughts/experiences?
Any help appreciated!

Live in are better cases. Not that they offer any more protection, but they make it easy to set up your amp.

Aren't you essentialy doing the same thing by just taking a bit off your case?

Yeah, but you don't have to worry about where to put your case at a gig. I used to set my 4x12 on top of the empty case

I would worry way more about heat before latch failure. Especially since your amp has a vent on the top.

Didn't you say that you had a stuffed fox that you would occasionally fuck?

It's not a fox,it's a wolf.

+1 the butterfly latches that are used are great. and pretty much all of them would have to fail.

If you notice live-in cases tend to be a little taller to alow for air circulation (from most companies not all)

Would it be a stupid idea to drill holes in the top of the case for airflow? They wouldn't have to be big, just enough to keep it coolish.

You could, but then you take away part of why a roadcase is used, to keep: dust and liquids off your amp.
