Hello everyone. I've recently started transcribing works by Vinnie Moore, and he uses a lot of pinch harmonics, which has made me realize I'm not sure how to tab them out.

I know how pinch harmonics work, and how to mark them as such in GP, but my problem is I have no idea which fret he's playing, since the harmonic can be a different note than the one being fretted.

Am I right to say that theoretically, a pinch harmonic can be played at any fret as long as the pinch is done at the correct spot?

This is disregarding the impracticality of playing a note extremely far away, and how the lower strings generally result in harmonics with overtones (so the tonal difference will be a consideration), of course.
