Yeah the question is; how well does a guitar amp manage the low pitch from a guitar that's using a octave-down pedal? (Thinking of the Morpheus DropTune)

Can they handle the low frequency or is a bass amp needed?

It'll handle an octaved guitar signal fine.

Basses have buttloads of fundamental- a typical electric won't have anywhere near as much iirc.

Even playing a bass through a guitar amp works fine so long as the speakers can handle it- amps dont care about the input signal. Bass through guitar speakers can cause damage, though you'll probably get away with it at bedroom volume.

An octaved guitar signal will be fine however as it won't have as much fundamental.
EDIT: The DropTune is a pitch shifter rather than a traditional octave down pedal btw.
