I'm pretty sure this thread has been done in the past but I'm just looking for some inspiration at the moment. What's everyones favorite film score? Or specific piece from a film?

Here's mine at the moment:

Any answer other than The Good the Bad and the Ugly is wrong. I guarantee you anyone who does film scores will agree.

A Field in England soundtrack is really, however due to it only being a limited vinyl release of 400 you can't just listen to the soundtrack. But here's an example!

EDIT: Scratch that, this ones better.

The Fountain has my favorite soundtrack, of any movie. Everything about it is perfect.
My God, it's full of stars!

Prince Of Persia : Revelations has a bitchin' soundtrack, FF7 as well... As far as movie soundtracks, I always loved "Mouse Hunt"'s score.

James Horner: Glory
Randy Newman: Toy Story series

Xiaoxi, it's not my favorite, but what do you think of the score for Signs?

I never watched Signs and now I refuse to do so because I hate that Avatar desecrating bastard.

Signs is a weird movie for me, because it's kind of just an average movie, but I could have a four hour discussion about it.

It's far from the greatest movie I've seen, but there's a remarkable charm I think it has that keeps its replay value. I enjoy talking about it too.

It really wears its influences on its sleeves in a great way.

See, I haven't even picked up on what influenced it. What are the more obvious ones? Maybe I just haven't made the connection yet.

Oh yea good call. Hisaishi is very nice.

And that also reminds me... Shigeaki Saegusa on Gundam Zeta / ZZ and Kow Otani on Gundam Wing.

I dunno if this will stick, but I really liked Ramin Djawadi on Pacific Rim. Pitch perfect...
