Hey all.

I'm trying to help out a buddy here.

A few nights ago he was at a gig and for some reason pointed his '62 jazz bass at his Ampeg head and it completely shut down. After a few seconds he could turn the amp back on. He put the bass up to it again to see if it would do it again and it would happen every time. At this point, he just assumed that something is wrong with the head so he pulls out his backup which is a GK. Out of curiosity, he points the bass at the GK and it cuts out too. So now it's the bass. I have never heard of a problem like this before so I am asking around. Anybody ever experience something like this before?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The low frequencies are probably rattling something loose inside the electronically cavity on the bass.
