Hey guys, I have been listening to bands like Periphery for a while now and feel like getting a 7 string so that I can finally jam to their music. I am a big fan of the guitars that Misha uses but his custom guitars are way out of my price range. At most, I would like to spend 400-700$. I like brands like ESP/LTD and Ibanez but could you guys point me towards some specific guitars that I wouldn't want to replace in a couple of years? BTW, I would prefer no FR bridges.

Congrats on your Interceptor!
I have the same one but 27" tribal green.
Had it almost a year now and I'm still amazed at how great it looks and plays.
If i could build a custom.. nothing would change.

That's how I felt...except its my first experience with a floyd rose (I have an Ibanez awesome ZR tremolo) so I already put a tremol-no in it and changed out the strings for a thicker gauge :p

I'm loving it.

The Jackson SLAT's are nice. I just bought one first one had some QC issues, but for around 6-700 comes neck thru loaded with emgs and a nice weight.

What is the best gauge of strings to play in tunings that Periphery usually uses?
