THE FIVE ESSENTIAL SONGS FOR YOUR LISTENING DEVICE

I'm going to make another list for the hell of it, and because I can, and because damnit, I enjoy making list, and reading other's list.

As a listener of the music stuffs, I am always trying to expand my musical journey to places I wouldn't normally venture, (wow that's f*ckin' cheesy). Anyway so I would like to know what ya'lls opinions on what the five essential songs for e'rbody's "devices" would be.

Now to make things easier/more interesting, I thought that I would divide these songs into five easy categories;

1. The Groove: Song to Seduce Women With. You will need more than one, most of you probably need a hundred. Myself I could use a thousand, but what is that one song that is crucial for your rolling like thunder, under the covers.

2. The Drive: Song To Drive Fast and Take Chances With. Late night, early morning, mid-day nothing beats a brilliant road trip album. What's the best song, from the best album.

3. The Heartbreak: A Song to Cry Yourself to Sleep To. We've all been there, well maybe not, but you can imagine what it's like, right? What is that soulful ballad to sop up your salty tears, until your dry as the, the. . . shit, dry as the Sahara (Not my most poetic moment).

4. The Rage: Song To Smash Your Fucking Face Tonight. Angry at the world? What's the jam?

5. The Wake: Song to Be Played On Repeat at Your Funeral. Why not? Something sad, and mournful? Something fun, and cheerful? Something to annoy the shit out of the poor folks attending? What is it?

These are just a few ideas, you may use your own categories if you'd like, (make sure you let us know what they are) or copy/paste mine. I am honestly probably going to buy about twenty or so singles off iTunes in the next couple of days, so your input is appreciated.

Okay, me first;

1. The Groove: Marvin Gaye - Let's Get it On. Yeah, no points for originality, but c'mon it's a classic. It's "Essential".

2. The Drive: Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run. See above explanation ^^

3. The Heartbreak: Pearl Jam - Black. "I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a sun, in somebody else's sky, but why can't it be mine." *sniff

4. The Rage: Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name. Fuck you I won't do what you tell me

5. The Wake: Johnny Cash - I See a Darkness. Sure, Bonnie Prince Billy wrote it, and sang it first, but Cash's version makes me crumble. No, happy songs at my funeral.

Well, let's see yours'. . .

Other catagories worth a shot;

Song to Get Punched in the Face By: Maylene & Sons of Disaster - Raised by the Tide
Song to Live Your Life By: Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
Song to Drink Yourself Into a Coma By: Andrew WK - Ready to Die
Song to Smoke Yourself Into a Coma By: Tupac Shakur - Hail Mary
Song to Lose All Your Friends With: Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Antennas to Heaven
"Pain or damage don't end the world nor despair, nor fuckin' beatings. The world ends when you're dead, until then you have more punishment in store. Stand it like a man, and give some back."

smoke, you get more awesome by the minute..... You have an epic beard, live near woods, listen to metal, grill stuff using makeshift bbqs out of old cans, and now we find out you have stabbed someone in the dick
