I have an unknown Fernandes model, and while it's great to play, there's either a broken PU switch AND volume knob, or busted wiring. Regardless, I want to replace the electronics.

The bridge is a humbucker, and the neck/middle are single coils.

I play a variety of music, from metal to ambient, and I think a HSS config should work quite well. The main problem I'm having, is I can't think of which single coils to put in. The neck PUP would be mostly used for the ambient side of things, as I put large amounts of delay and reverb, with the tone turned down to give it a mellow sound. The middle PUP I"m unsure of altogether.

The other problem I'm having, is I want to use an active humbucker, and passive single coils. Is this possible without anything too hard?
