Hey all, need some help with finishing a guitar.

I'm planning on buying a guitar kit (http://pitbullguitars.com/?product=pit-bull-guitars-wl-1-electric-guitar-kit-3 ) and want to get a solid black finish on it, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to paint and finishing guitars.

Are there any types of spray paints that would work well enough to give me a solid, glossy finish? I'm assuming I'll need to have a few black coats with plenty of clear coats on top, but does anyone know of any specific products that would be best for this? I live in Australia if that makes a difference.

Cheers for any help

I recently repainted my guitar and I used Krylon though ive been told Rustolium is better. The biggest factor in getting a glossy finish is making sure your paint is sanded smooth and then making sure you wet sand the clear coat and then buff it when your done.

This video helped me.

Just bought myself a pit bull guitars kit. The quality is amazing for the price!

"White Knight Squirts" (~$10) are a decent oil based rattlecan, just use something like the "fiddly bits grey undercoat"(~$3)

Both can be purchased from every Bunnings!

I'd recommend that you get some "Cabots cabothane" for the clearcoat.

The squirts finish up quite well if you take your time, but no clearcoat is gonna leave the guitar susceptible to damage

EDIT: Krylon and Rustoleum don't seem particularly easy to get in australia
