Hi all,

Just joined, very excited to get going.

After reading about Hamer Guitars being closed by FMIC, I came up with the idea of getting myself an USA made Hamer.
The only problem is that they are really not easy to come by, at least in this part of Europe.
Then I got an opportunity to purchase an Hamer Vintage S. Asked price 500€. Please see the attached pics.
The bridge pickup has been replaced with the Kent Armstrong. If I am not totally mistaken, those came with the onboard preamp, which this one seems to lack.
So can you please let me know your opinion on this one?
Thanks for taking time!

I'm no expert, but I love that guitar. The top is awesome and I dig the gold hardware. Anything with birdseye maple is eye candy! Enjoy it.

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated
What´s your opinion on that K.Armstrong pickup? Never had any of them.

do you know which model of kent armstrong it is?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Hi, sorry for the late response.

Excuse me for being an idiot, but I have no idea. What I meant to say was how do they compare to Duncans, because for some reasons the bridge humbucker has been swapped for a K. Armstrong.

out of the ones i've tried (which is not many), I'd prefer duncans. I'm talking about the korean-made/sky ones, though. I believe KA also makes handwound pickups which he winds himself and which I'm guessing are pretty good.

no problem

if you do get it, with any luck there'll be a code on the back of the pickup. So you should (again, with any luck) be able to identify exactly what KA pickup it is. WD Music stocks the full range and lists the codes of each model on its website. good luck
