Hey Everyone. We just got a 400W mixer. We have an active speaker that i can run the mixer with the "mix to ext amp" input, which bypasses the amps. The problem is we don't have any passive PA speakers. Will running the mixer only with the powered speaker burn it out, or should we be fine until we can afford some speakers?
Here's the link for the mixer: http://www.peavey.com/products/index.cfm/item/699/118111/PVi%26reg%3B6500

if you plug no speakers into that PA and just use it for sending a passive signal to your powered speaker then you should be fine. almost all solid state amps (except very unusual designs or a few very old amps) are fine without running speakers with it.
