Than Anchorman?

Im watching this movie on HBO... I can't believe its 10 years old, and pretty much everyone I know still quotes this movie atleast once a week.
#3
I've never seen it, and have absolutely no desire to.

"The World's End" was ace, as is everything else Simon Pegg has done, so those beat Anchorman.
#5
Hot Rod is miles better

Anchorman was great at the time, but that type of comedy got super oversaturated after it and doesn't hold up quite as well

Not trying to be some contrarian douche but i thought it was pretty lame.

Anchorman was funny, but not really that amazing, as you say (IMO).

I prefer Zoolander for one.
sometimes I see us in a cymbal splash or in the sound of a car crash

First time I watched Zoolander, I thought it was a crock of shit.

Then I watched it again, and again, and again.

Holy shit, it's comedy genius.

idk, but i'll probably never ever laugh at any movie as much as i did when i saw anchorman for the first time when i was 13, so it doesnt really matter.
#17
I don't get why people love that movie so much It has a few great quotes, but the movie as a whole didn't really amaze me.

The World's End is nowhere near as good as Anchorman.

i don't know, they are on about the same level for me

ok maybe hot fuzz wins by a bit

same. I love Anchorman, but Hot Fuzz is better imo.

Actually, I probably prefer Talledega Nights to Anchorman if we're talking Will Ferrell movies.

Tropic Thunder is also one of my favorite comedies in recent years.

Anchorman was okay.

One of my favorites is God Bless America. It's not really a comedy movie but, still, it's hilarious.

meh. I like all the movies named in this thread. Anchorman just seems a little more memorable.

I think semi pro is on the same level, just not as widely appreciated.

Mcgruber is awesome too. Once again though, its not a movie where everyone knows the quotes.

Totally disagree with Hotfuzz or Hotrod being anywhere near as good as Anchorman.

I can relate with step brothers.

you asked us if it's the best comedy, not most iconic, which is probably is. the amount of people quoting it has nothing to do with how it stacks up to other movies.

I agree, Black Dynamite has so much genius to it , its underrated.

The way he delivered the line "(after Bullhorn is killed) Fiendish Dr. Wu, you done ****ed up now!"
A bassist is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.

The Pit operates under a pseudo-Murphy’s Law state of mind. You can make a comment and "whatever wrong assumption that can be made about it, will be made about it."

watched Anchorman once, thought it was okay. i like the other mentions here a lot more, especially Hot Fuzz and Tropic Thunder.
