Looking to buy a passive neck humbucker for my lp styled guitar which has a mahogany body. I'll be playing only cleans. I don't like sparkly cleans, I'm looking for smooth mellow cleans. ATM I'm thinking of the SD aph-1 alnico II or SD SH1 '59. Any other suggestions?

could you be a little more descriptive about the guitar?

My favorite is a dimarzio liquifire though t sure about mahogany though. May want to take a look at lace as well

SD Jazz is pretty mellow, have it in two of my guitars. Explorer and a Jackson Kelly. Has a slight honk to it in the upper midrange that you can only really hear once you notice it.

damn, my apologies. i missed part of the first line with LP shape.

are you looking for something PAF or something with a different edge.

it is worth noting that i have a Air Norton in my other prestige, and i like it a lot, but the liqilfire is my preference. smooth glossy OD

SD '59's are good too, i just didn't like them as much as the dimarzios.

i am not a fan of the SD jazz

I loved the Classic 57 in my Les Paul.

+1 i love them as well.

what about something from BG. i have played one set on a friends, but he custom winds them and is great. i used to converse regularly with him on HC, nice guy. give him a call and see what he would make. they are all ~$80 some more some higher.

I'd go with that over the '59 if you want mellow.

aph2 should also be pretty mellow.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
