Hey ya'll

Im thinking about getting a second amp to run in stereo with my '79 Marshall JMP2204 half stack/ take with me to out of town shows when space in the van is at a premium and i dont wanna borrow amps/cabs. But i dont wanna get a marshall 2104 from the '70's because whats the point of having two of the exact same amps? But i digress, Im debating between an AC30 thats either the '90's 6/tb reissue or a CC2x with blues. OR a JTM 45/Bluesbreaker variant (the ceriatone clones look good for the money). The band im in sounds like Hüsker Dü and the Wipers. Most of my distortion comes from pedals (box of rock, early '70's big muff) and i usually set the 2204 to just breaking up. I've had a lot of experience with other peoples AC30's and have generally liked the results but I havent had so much experience with JTM 45's and its relatives. Is there another amp im not thinking of that could do the job?

Unless you have the cash for one of the original type (vintage) AC30s or JTMs I wouldn't bother with either of them in their new incarnations. Outside of that, I'd take a Ceriatone clone or something altogether different. There are quite a few amps actually that would probably suit you. Like Derek said, what is your budget, location and such?

Are you looking for something that complents or something supplements your tone?

Would you want to stay vintage in tone? Or somewhat more modern? To what extent?

i guess both, something that complements the 2204 when i run it in stereo with it and is able to come kind of close to it (but not 100%) on its own. I only wanna stay with a vintage tone, vox, marshall, hiwatt. Modern amps are rubbish
