if you don't mind.
I use a Peavey Ultra at the moment, and while the cleans are great for what I use them for, the distortion is not. I'm thinking something more like a JCM800, but then they lack the cleans I need. Do you know of any amps that combine both?
I live in Sweden, budget around £450 if I sell the Ultra. I do have a cab.
Buying used is preferable. As an alternative, I'm thinking of getting the GA15 from thomann put a boost in front and mod the shit out of it, do you think that'd work?
The sounds I'm going for are from 70's rock like Wishbone Ash and Deep Purple to sounds like Prlican and Opeth.

Have you looked at the 2 channel JCM800 models? There is also the JCM900 mkIII which is basically the same amp as the 2 channel JCM800.

But with the range of tones your looking for, have you thought about the JCM2000 DSL50/100? Great cleans, great classic crunch channel and a much more modern ultra channel.

The Krank Chadwick and 1980 are also great amps with nice clean channels and good drive channels. Very Marshall voiced with the chadwick being more HR Plexi and the 1980 can get a little more modern tone

Laney VH100r is also a great amp you should really look at.

I've heard of them, and all I've heard is that the clean channel is basically shit. The JCM900 I'm familiar with, not a huge fan.

I'll have a look at the DSLs. Got a feeling they're twice the price in Sweden. Same with the Kranks, but worth a look.

I had the VC50, and I couldn't get along with the clean channel. That might have to do with the rubbish HH speakers though. Thanks, I'll look around for those amps.

Edit: oh, the mkIII 900? I'll have a look at that too.

This is what I was going to say as soon as I finished reading the OP. Seriously look around and hold out for a VH100R.
