I got a Jay Turser P-bass over the summer and was really impressed at what this $80 (used from GC) could do.
I've got about $250 now, and I was wondering if I should save for something like an Epiphone Les Paul Standard or GT-400, or go for the Jay Turser equivalents (JT-220 and JT-50 Custom, respectively).
The Tursers are substantially cheaper, according to Amazon, but I can't find more than a couple reviews on Amazon, and I can't tell if the reviews here are judging guitars "for the price" or not.
Are Jay Tursers as good as or better than their Epiphone counterparts?

Thanks in advance!

Play them in a store, through an amp. Then choose what you like best. It's unlikely that the Turser's are as good as the epiphone in terms of spec, but that might not be reflected in the way it feels/sounds.

Other options for les Paul's in the same price bracket, or maybe a tad more are the Agile range, or if you want a little more bite you could try a gretsch pro jet.

Very few stores have Jay Tursers, at least where I am.
