Back in the '60s when Jorma Kaukonen was the lead guitarist of the Jefferson Airplane, they played some incredible music. Everyone in the group, so talented.

Among them was Jorma, their lead guitarist who's psychedelic style not only mixed blues, folk and country, but also an exotic indian style.

If you check out this video, he plays an opening solo from 0:45 - 1:10

It sounds pretty bluesy, but distinctly has an indian feel. Would anyone know what scale this is?

I think the indian feel you're talking about comes more from the sliding around the neck rather than just playing in one spot on the neck and possibly the rhythmic placement of the licks rather than the actual notes.

Saw Jorma and Jack at a small venue earlier this year. At 70 years old those boys can still play.
