In a nutshell:

Budget: $300, but if I can get something good for less, by all means I would rather do that.

Use: Everything from cleans and overdrive to metal.

I will go new or used, but I looked on craigslist and there wasn't a whole lot of PA gear.

I am looking at getting a powered monitor to use with my RP1000. I want to have a simple rig of just the RP1000 and some kind of monitor that I can use. I don't know much about monitor brands, pricing, and quality of sound.

Ideally the monitor would be relatively compact, but I don't want to sacrifice much on sound either. For reference, I would like something easier to haul and fit in a crowded area than my Valveking 212 combo. I am planning to buy a monitor and sell the valveking.
