two weeks ago I got into a band, and we already have our first thrashy song. So I was playing stuff we wrote and for that time, I didn't practice technique, and nothing else. The thing I wrote isn't ,off course, above my skill level, so the question is how to find balance in practicing, so I can keep developing and improve my chops?

Write harder songs (write away from the guitar). Learn other people's material. Split your time up evenly.

There are many ways of doing it, you just need to find one that suits you and what you want to do.
