. . . or all gain/boost pedals in general.

soo they make tapping(and hammer on/pull-offs) in a clean channel more 'hear-able', right??
(sorry for a really nooby question)

No. That is not what they are designed to do at all.

No pedal is going to make to make you play better, or be more "hear-able" as you put it. There's no substitute for good technique. However, a poor amplifier/guitar can prohibit how good you sound. Just not how good you can play.

that being said, i think you're looking for a compressor pedal.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
