Would anyone happen to know the scale I could use to improvise over running down a dream by tom petty and the heartbrakers?

E minor pentatonic or E minor blues scale.
The "riff" in the begining and throughout the song is in the blues scale
E:---0--7--0--6--0--5--0--3--0---
The notes are e (open string), b (7th fret), a# (6th fret), a (5th fret) and g (3rd fret) so it fits the blues scale because of the a#.
The solo at the end of the song is just regular e minor pentatonic so basically you're free to use blues or pentatonic licks at any given time. Both will sound good and correct.
