Hey fellas^^ So I run into a problem with my Charvel desolation DX-1.
It worked perfectly just a few days ago, but when I began playing today I realized something was off with the sound it produced: There's no real crunch while using distortion (harmonics just fade away..can't do dive bombs) and I had to pretty much put master volume up to 11 in order to hear anything when using clean channel.

So far I've tried:
- Different chords/amps
- Changing the battery (twice)

I though it might be some wiring problem, as the sound appears to be the same with or without battery. Also there's a black wire just hanging..

Here's a pic of the wiring, tell me if you see anything wrong (Though I have a feeling that it's the black wire..)

Just solder the black back onto the open tab of the jack. It's your 9V feed.

Edit: Active EMGs are often installed with a stereo jack. White is your 'hot' pickup output, the braiding is your ground, and the black is 9V. Having that setup cuts the power when you take the plug out, so you don't drain your batteries.

Thanks! I will give it a shot
