Got me a LTD M-1000 last night. Used by one of my all time favourite guitarists, Nick Bertelsen from Baptized in Blood. Seen these guys numerous times and to own a guitar played on their European tour is absolutely amazing.

Anyhow, now that my story is over, time for specs:

LTD M-1000
EMG 81 pickups (Will be swapping neck for a 60)
Set-Thru Construction
25.5" Scale
Alder Body
Flamed Maple Top
Maple Neck
Rosewood Fingerboard
42mm Locking Nut (43mm Neck Width)
Extra Thin U Neck Contour
24 XJ Frets
Black Nickel Hardware
Grover Tuners
OFR Bridge

Really happy with it. Traded my old JSX that needed work + my tele that I could no longer play for it.

Came with a sturdy as .... flight case too.

iPronz:

Never had a guitar with a Floyd Rose before. Having major difficulty making it parallel and in tune, right now I can get it in tune, or parallel, not both at the same time. Tips?

I'll post better pictures later after I've cleaned it up a whole bunch.

How much did you get it for?

It was $499 w/HSC

Traded my Tele that I physically could no longer play due to the neck, and my Peavey JSX that hasn't been played in months. Had it up on kijiji for almost a year with no bites.

Supremely happy with what I got though.

Having trouble getting the OFR set up properly though

Have a look at the floyd rose guide and look at some setup videos is all I can really suggest.

Unless you changed string guage the Floyd should be level once the guitar is in tune, if it was set up correctly to begin with. If you did change string guage or it wasn't set up right, it's going to take some tweaking to get it all worked out.

You just have to tune it, then make adjustments to the springs until it's level. Tune again, make adjustments to the spring until it's level. Basically you just have to do this over and over until you get it right.

String gauge isn't as important here as whether it's being tuned to what it was set up as, or if he's using a different tuning. Even a half step down requires a resetting of the spring tension.

Gonna take alot of practice to get used to setting up the floyd. Do some research, play with it, see if you can talk to a local guitar tech at a shop or something.

Hey man, weird question, but is that guitar a flat-top? All of the LTD horizons I've played are archtops, which I don't really dig on a superstrat type guitar.

But yeah, nice axe. $500 for that with a case is a great deal IMHO.

True, my post was assuming it was in the same tuning it came in.

Flat top! Arch top superstrats seem a bit weird. But as far as I can tell this is a flat top.

If you don't like the Floyd, just block it.

Personally, I detest Floyds.

I essentially got it because it had a Floyd aha.

Took it to my tech, low E string kept popping out of the saddle. Should have it back and have better pics by tuesday
