The greatest guitar I have ever played and it's mine. Ever since I started playing guitar I had the dream to own a Fender Custom Shop. I went to the store to look for a nice mexican strat, but nothing really struck my fancy. The shop owner told me to 'just try this one', a Custom Shop relic model. It was great, but it wasn't perfect. Tried about two dozen strats in total, but nothing really spoke to me. Finally the shop owner came back to me and told me that he had just the thing for me. The moment I picked the guitar up and felt the neck and weight of the guitar I knew it was perfect. It played better than any guitar I have ever tried and it sounds incredible. It's a new 2010 Fender Custom Shop Custom Classic Strat. It's a thin-finished alder or ash body (not sure, waiting for confirmation from Fender but thinking alder), lightly-figured C--maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5” radius, 22 medium-jumbo frets, and Fender deluxe staggered cast/sealed machine heads. The pickups in it are Custom Modern Classics with a Hot Classic in the bridge. And: Three-ply parchment pickguard, aged White plastic parts, and a Custom Classic two-point synchronized tremolo with milled solid-stainless saddles, solid steel spring block and pop-in arm. Enough of me talking, enjoy the pics:

Damn, sweet axe. Love the burst/gaurd combo, that's some pretty grain. Enjoy, HNGD!

I now see that I posted this in the wrong forum (not electric guitars). If a mod could move this to there, that would be great.

No. No no. Don't move it.

If you had posted this thread over there I never would have seen it

Start talking about the strings you got for her.

Imagine my pants when I played it. I'm gonna put some Dunlop low tension strings on there, as per reccomendation from the shop owner. I can't put this baby down.

HNGD! Good on ya for finding the guitar that felt perfect in your hands.

i agree with lavatain. I'm not a fender guy, in fact i would probably rather trick out a MIJ start with my own custom purchased parts and pup, etc. ...but thats why i bought a carvin.

but its a darn nice start, sure it plays about as good as a start can. congrats. my carvin is about 90% the way to my dream guitar, about the best option in existence for the money i paid, so i know the feeling you have. right there with ya brotha.

Nice!! Great guitar! After playing many many guitars over the 10+ years I have been playing, I think strats are the best playing guitars in the world.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
