I use a head with a 2x12 cab, but I struggle to hear it nicely so I end up sitting on the floor to get a good sound. I need something to raise it higher, about the size of another 2x12 underneath it. What can i use? Beer crates? Just a table?

How is this related to amp isolation?
Anyway, put it vertically up if u aren't already, or put it up on a table.

Tone is in the fingers.

What you really need is a new amp.

(Anything I missed?)

I have been hearing about MG amps lately. I have heard good about them, but only a few times have they been talked about here.

+1 turn the cab vertical and problem solved

if not, get another 2x12 or a 4x12 cab to put the speakers closer to ear level

like he said....
*vertical tilt http://www.thomann.de/se/standback_ampstand.htm (or use an old binder) or *put it on the case you hopefully transport it in.
*putting plastic infront of it will work to... http://www.thomann.de/se/clearsonic_jb4.htm
pushes the sound up and your sound-Tech at live gigs will love you for doing it
*play standing on your head....this will really leap your band into a whole other World of you-tube fame

...even opening the back of your 212 will help dispurse the sound in a room....will although alter your tone and many find it "muddy´s" the clarity since it really doesn´t send the sound in any direction
