One of my two pickups only works some of the time. I will lose sound completely for moments. I haven't figured out anything that helps it start working again. Is it likely just a wiring issue? If so, is that something that can be fixed with soldering?

Almost certainly a loose connection somewhere. Give everything a good check over and re-solder anything that's come loose.

Could be your cable, a bad/loose jack, or a dirty or failing switch.

Those are the most likely suspects.
