I wouldn't. I'd find some nice speakers for it (or turn it into a head and add a 2x12 or 4x12) and retube it with some nice tubes.

Right on I've been lugging the heavy sucker
with a appliance dolly but winter hit so now
I need to A. Buy another amp for practice spot.

Yeah, but you can cut the top of the combo off and put a wooden bottom on it.
Having a head shell made can get kinda expensive

Go to a cabinet shop/carpenter and ask if they could build one for you, probably much cheaper than having a music company do it
