Hi guys!
I've got an nice one:
I had a faulty pickup in a client's cheap Chinese JBass, took it out, opened it up, and the wires were sort of taped to the coil?!
Not soldered anywhere, just taped to the coil...
Any of you knows what's the deal here??

Help!
Cheerz, Mike.

Thanks Phoenix, ok, I had that coming, but still, how did that function at all to begin with?!

That's pretty bizarre. There must of just been enough pressure on the wires in contact with the coil.

Are you sure the wires were just taped? Pickup wire is extremely small so sometimes you can't even see that the wire is actually soldered. If you were to pull on the joint then you may not even feel much resistance because the wire is hair-thin.

Post a pic?
