Say what you want about The Oscars, but they're definitely a spectacle. Certainly still interesting most especially for the punditry that surrounds it.

I love the punditry, and I was wondering if anyone else here did to.

If so, what are your predictions for who will get nominated a few months from now?

I'm still waiting for the day when we won't preface every Oscar discussion with "say what you want about the oscars..."
#5
say what you want about the Baftas/Oscars, but give me a list of films that should be worth watching,
usually check out whatever seems interesting in the following weeks

sometimes I can get a bit sick of the pomp of the ceremonies
the industry patting themselves on the back and all that
But boys will be boys and girls have those eyes
that'll cut you to ribbons, sometimes
and all you can do is just wait by the moon
and bleed if it's what she says you ought to do

I know it's a blockbuster, but Man of Steel has an incredible soundtrack and deserves a nomination, if for that alone.

Also a great art direction.

I'm going to bump this cuz it's relevant to my interest.

Haven't seen enough movies so far in this season to make predictions. Hoping to catch Dallas Buyers Club, Philomena and 12 Years a Slave sometime this week.

Definitely looking forward to American Hustle. No doubt that it's going to be up for something.

edit: Oh and Saving Mr Banks. I wanna see that too.
