Been busy as shit the last few months, so in terms of purchases I've been just picking up the odd Irish demo and filling gaps in my collection. Anything cool that flew under the radar recently?

Demo of 2013 for me is still Obscure Burial - God's Abomination. Best death metal since Whore's demo tape in 2011.

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

0-0-0-13-0-0-0-0-13 or something like that alalalala but It;s so heavy and off time and awesome and you could not f**k anyone to it.

Why did you start this when I am at school. All I have is Voidchrist off the top of my head, but there were a bunch. Check out the 2013 releases thread because I put some demos in there too. I can probably edit in links later.

EDIT: I realized this was based around my sheer forgetfulness, so link for Voidchrist:

and Gauntlet who are a pretty cool heavy metal band:

The King is Blind - Promo 2013

Just send them a message on facebook. Slightly doomy death metal is the sound you're getting. Not usually my cuppa, but I quite like it.

Wolcensmen - Demo
Neo-folk, but pretty tasty. I think the guy behind the band wants to remain anonymous, at least for now. But a mate of mine knows him, and he's an illustrator who's worked with some pretty big names (Burzum amongst other names), but I don't want to say much more. But it's free from bandcamp and really quite good.

That Wolcensmen demo is really good.

Eternal Champion's The Last King of Pictdom is the best demo I've heard this year:

I’m not the man I used to be, I... I can’t go back to Arkham.

I... I should return to Arkham.

Among the churchyard’s mouldering stones I recognise a name – my own.
I have come home to Arkham.

I may as well warn you that buying some of these demos might prove to be more challenging than expected, as a lot of them are already sold out.

Symptom - Opulent Atrocity was beyond crushing, brooding death metal and I would definitely recommend picking that up, despite it being a full length. Same goes for Vornth full length this year, except it's black-thrash similar in style to Inquisitor.

Respectively,

Merciless Attack - Mercy for None (thrash)
Jackdevil - Faster than Evil

Both can be purchased from http://metalthroneproductions.webs.com/tapes

Infant Death - Cursed to Damnation
Vicious and hysterical thrashing death/black metal. Their demo is sold out though, but I do recommend listening to their 2013 demo.

Rot - Kingdom of Antigod Sodomy
Just get this. I don't think I can be more clear. It is a disgusting demo full of disgusting riffs. I play with people's hearts because this label is sold out too.

Old skin - s/t

https://soundcloud.com/oldskin

Virgin Killer - En la lucha por la existencia (which roughly translates to un la loocha pour la existance in Canadian)

But it's probably one of the more "fun" sounding heavy metal acts of this year.

Rhincervs - RH-15

I haven't heard this yet, so I'm recommending this out of pure trust in this band to put forth another great demo. Really one of my favourite black metal acts going.

Nuclear Death Terror - Equinox

Not really metal, closer to crust, but definitely a raging record! Just listen to that rip-off of Seasons in the Abyss opening acoustic section.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG2YQEjyq-k

No where to pick it up either I'm afraid.

Coffins - Colossal Hole
death/doom. It's alright. You might recognize them from the line-up Razorback used to have a few years ago.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWN6DPQoKK4
http://www.horrorpaingoredeath.com/store/hpgd070.html probably not worth the money in my eyes but not bad for a listen.

Horrified - Carcinogenic Feasting
Old school death metal done today. Not over the top astounding, but couldn't hurt to give it a go if you like osdm.

http://tombsinthevalley.bandcamp.com/album/carcinogenic-feasting

Ill Omen - Radiant Beast of Excessum
Crushing, dark, brooding and all of those other things I mentioned about other bands. Really good demo; haunting and eclipsing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWRRFxYE0Es
Another elusive demo. I think bands are purposefully making it difficult to get their shit, but it has been a while since most of these have been released.

Paysage D'Hiver - Das Tor
For fans of walking in rainbow snowfall land. I liked it a lot because this is a pretty album and that's all my manliness will allow me to say.

Those were some releases worth checking out, kind of. My personal list would Rot, Paysage D'Hiver, Ill Omen, Infant Death, and Rhinocervs.

Forgot about High Spirits. Another Night was the big thing with Hells Headbangers and rightly so. Very good demo. How was their live show?

How in the name of jaysus did I miss a High Spirits demo!??
