I recently put 2 16 ohm speakers into my avatar 212 not realizing before hand that if I wired them parallel it would equal 8 ohms. I plan to buy some new speakers to replace the ones in my 412. I believe series-parallel wiring would probably be the easiest route to take with this, but what ohm speakers would I need if I plan to go this direction and want the impedance to be 8 ohms? My goal is to run the cabinet along with my 8 ohm 212 from the parallel outs on my amp head.

If you want an 8 ohm 4x12 cabinet then you would get 8 ohm speakers (two sets are each wired in parallel and then each 'side' is wired together in series to give you 8 total).

Pair that with another 8 ohm cab and your amp will see a 4 ohm load total.

(disregard that note in the bottom of the Jpeg - that example was if all the speakers were 16)

just bear in mind that if you want to run your 2x12 and 4x12 together, the speakers in the 2x12 will be seeing double the wattage of the speakers in the 4x12, so you want to be sure they can handle that. they probably will be able to unless you're running a ridiculously high wattage head or ridiculously low wattage speakers (even if the speakers are only 25 watt-rated, they'd handle a 100 watt head, for example), but it's worth bearing in mind, just in case.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

The 2x12 can handle 100 watts, which is what my head is. Really, I plan to run both cabs in stereo with 2 heads, but just for the long run, I wanted to get a matching ohms loads in case i did want to use both cabs with one head.

Yeah that'll be fine Just making sure
