You listen to that many albums in a day? How much time do you have on your hands? xD

Also why isn't this just a post in the rec thread...

"post your playlists" is an acceptable thread. It's kinda hard for me to pinpoint a specific list though, because my listening habits vary pretty widely from day to day.
Who are you? The prince of darkness? Don't you have any friends?

At the moment it surrounds around Lifelover - Konkurs/Pulver, Akercocke's Goat of Mendes, and everything by Arghoslent. Then the rest kind of center around those albums in my life.

Not many classics I tend to play regularly. Just not that into them.

EDIT: That's not true, because I really am enjoying the shit out of Godflesh's Streetcleaner and Death's Scream Bloody Gore/Leprosy get the frequent spin. Bethlehem's Dictius/Dark Metal get a lot of listens.

I listen to more demos than anything though. I find myself lacking the time to really listen to a lot of metal during the day, but I usually fall asleep to one of the albums I mentioned.

I find the albums I can listen to any time, especially in work, tend to be the more lightweight, fun ones that I can appreciate without too much attention. Here's a few that spring to mind:

Immortal - Blizzard Beasts
Satan - Court in the Act
Slayer - Show No Mercy
Cryptopsy - None so Vile
Bathory - s/t
Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
Judas Priest - Stained Class
Iron Maiden - s/t
Angel Witch - s/t
DRI - Dealing with It
Impaled Nazarene - Ugra Karma
Overkill - Feel the Fire
#15
Some off the top of my head..:

Arghoslent - Hornets of the Pogrom
Trouble - S/T
Pentagram - Day of Reckoning
The Gates of Slumber - Conqueror
Agalloch - Pale Folklore
Dawn - Slaughtersun
Altar of Oblivion - Sinews of Anguish
Valkyrie - Man of Two Visions
Black Widow - Sacrifice
Candlemass - Nightfall
Doomsword - My Name Will Live On, Resound the Horn
Rotting Christ - Non Serviam
Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny
Nocturnus - The Key
Pagan Altar - Lords of Hypocrisy
Roky Erickson - The Evil One
Necros Christos - Doom of the Occult
Witchfinder General - Death Penalty

Edit: This list is random and embarrassingly lacking many classics
Matthew 5:5 - "Blessed are the meek: for they shall Beherit the earth."

Arghoslent - Hornets of the Pogrom

What makes you like this one over Incorrigible?

Don't get me wrong, I love the shit out of Hornets. The Nubian Archer + that closing riff in The Grenadier are phenomenal. Just curious really. Great list by the way!

Why omit the rest, Rome? So much good stuff on their newer albums too.

I'm a nutria hunter. 3/4 of my day is spent in hunting blinds listening to metal on my laptop, popping .221 rounds into small struggling rodents. $5/tail goes a long way when you bag 60-90 on a good afternoon.

Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Slayer - South of Heaven, maybe the live album sometimes
Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus, Privilege of Evil
Sentenced - North from Here
At the Gates- The Red in the Sky Is Ours
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Impaled Nazarene - Tol Comprt Norz Norz Norz
Deicide - Legion, Diecide
Primordial - To the Nameless Dead, The Gathering Wilderness, pretty much anything...

That's pretty much the list I could listen to on daily basis, although I don't. The list is pretty narrow because albums you could listen to on daily basis are pretty rare I guess.

Thanks, man. I suppose I find the songwriting to be at its peak for the most part, and there's a larger variety of riffs that I adore on Hornets (especially on the incredible Menacled Freightage which is easily my favorite Arghoslent song along with The Nubian Archer and The Grenadier). I also find it to be a catchier overall and just have far more segments (riffs, a few excellent solos and several ultra catchy vocal patterns and lyrics) throughout that make me come back to it more often than the also exceptional predecessor. Although minuscule, I prefer the title track instrumental on HotP over IB.

Unfortunately, the debut has never clicked for me and I should really revisit it again.

The only album I could see myself listening to every day is probably Nightfall. I listen to music in phases, and I mean I have been listening to a lot of Diocletian lately but I don't know if I would want to listen to Doom Cult every day.
#27

Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast/powerslave
Judas Priest - Sad wings/Stained class
Megadeth - Peace sells../RiP
Dio - Holy Diver
Obliveon - From this day forward
Aspid - Extravasation

Kreator - Live Kreation
Nuclear Assault - Game Over

Fair enough. I think the production is thickest on Hornets and it really makes the riffs stand out, which is really my biggest draw to them. I definitely agree that the riffs are really catchy on Hornets.

There's a lot of solid riffing going on in Incorrigible Bigotry. I think Galloping was their debut, but if you have time you should Ar-gooutofyourwaytolistentoallthematerialbecauseitissogood-slent
