Hi Guys,

I've just realised that my amp makes a weird annoying noise.
I am not the only one to use it. Other users don't seem to know what has happened with it.
I uploaded a video on YOuTube. Check it out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBkcpXEjNOw

0.19: I turn the volume button up.
0.52: I put all my finger on the string. the amp should be silent (normally).
1.12: I press the "clean" button. and do some picking. On the clean channel, the amp is not noisy.
1.23: I press the overdrive button, and turn up and down the Gain button

I posted a video
Any idea on what it could be?

Thank you.

You are just standing too close to the amp. When you unplugged your guitar the noise went off so it's your guitar. If you turn off your guitar volume, can you hear that noise? If not, it's definitely caused by your guitar - you are just standing too close to the amp. It could also be a bad cable.

But I agree with the above.

Also, to me it seems like you are using high volume. Turn down the volume, you don't need to play that loud. The louder you play, the easier you get feedback and that's what the noise could be.

Hi thank you. But, the volume was on 1/10. So, it was kinka low

OK, I just watched the end of the video where you had the volume at 7/10 or something. Or was it the gain knob?

Also, IMO the amp you have has too much gain - or the gain control is way too sensitive. I remember when I played through the amp and there was hardly no difference between gain at 5/10 and 10/10. And both sounded pretty muddy. Keeping the gain at 3/10 or something was enough for me.

Sounds like something oscillating to me. There could be a few causes of that. Being an MG it's probably a dry joint somewhere. Unless you can do it yourself, labour for the diagnostics alone will cost more than the amp is worth.

Thank you for all your answers.

It seems that someone wanted to connect the amp on his computer. To this end, he plugged a cable in the Emulated line out slot, and then he tried to put it into the emulated headphones slot . Neither of these options worked. ?

Might tha be the cause.. .?

@ Robbgnarly: so you think my amp is broken.. (it is indeed pretty annoying to play with this buzzing)
@ MaggaraMarine: At the end of the video, I turned the gain knod (indeed). I play with another guitar, but same buzzing...
@ Cathbard : Indeed, fixing it will cost more than buying (a second hand) one... Live sucks..

Get a better amp, MG's are not good at all, a good modeler like the Peavey Vypyr/vypyr tube would be better for you
